GENERAL SUMMARY: Under direction, respond to general inquiries from public at front window or by phone, accept payments, process purchase order requests and perform secretarial and general office duties. Administer a variety of municipal projects and programs to provide administrative support to the Borough Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform general secretarial and office duties. (40%)
  2. Serve as Trash and Recycling Coordinator; administer Borough Trash and Recycling Program; manage bid process to acquire vendors to haul trash and recyclables; monitor contract to ensure services rendered meet contract specifications; receive customer complaints, meet with vendor to resolve problems, e.g. disruption of services, conduct follow up to ensure correction; provide information to residents and landlords; review reports submitted regarding amount and type of hauling; review and approve bills submitted by hauler; prepare report for Borough Manager and Council regarding program activities. (20%)
  3. Serve as facilities coordinator for the Borough Office and other Borough facilities. (20%)
  4. Serve as stormwater program assistant; support the Borough Manager and the Street Superintendent in updating Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP) documents; tracking progress towards goals; recording and documenting for permit audits and renewals; supporting the submission of the annual report. (20%)

During the ceremony, we will be dedicating this year’s new bricks as part of the Millersville Veterans Memorial and the Hometown Heroes banners installed throughout the Borough in May 2026.

Light refreshments will be provided after the ceremony at Pavilion B. Event will be held rain or shine.

This event is “first come first served” from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm on October 28th at the 416 S. Broad St lot in Lancaster City. Once the 2 trailers are full, they will not accept more tires. Prices are $1/auto tire and $5/oversized tire. Tires must be off of rims!

Please be advised that the 2026 Millersville Parade, Decades of Discovery: America at 250, will begin at 8:30AM tomorrow, Saturday, October 17, 2026, rain or shine!

*AS A REMINDER TO BOROUGH RESIDENTS, the parade route includes Herr Ave, Landis Ave, and North George Street. Cars parked along the route should be moved by 5AM the day of the parade. If you live on any of the streets along the parade route, or those between Herr Ave. and North George St., you will not be able to drive anywhere on parade day between 8:00AM and approximately 10:30AM. If you live on the parade route or streets within the parade route and will need your vehicle during these times, you should move your vehicle before 5AM on parade day, so it is outside of the parade route. In the event of an emergency, access to any street will be provided as needed.
