Full-Time Police Officer – Millersville Borough, Lancaster County, PA

****$5,000 Sign-On Bonus for Act 120-Certified Hires****

The Millersville Borough Civil Service Commission is actively seeking an energetic individual to fill a full-time Police Officer position and is offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus for new hires who already possess Act 120 certification.

The Borough of Millersville, a growing community next to Lancaster City in historic Lancaster County, is looking for a police officer. Millersville is home to Millersville University of Pennsylvania, a pleasant college community that feels like home to everyone. The combined population of the permanent residents and college community is approaching 15,000 and offers plenty of diversity and opportunity for all interests. The borough officers work 12-hour rotating shifts that provide every other weekend off and enjoy a generous fringe benefit package.

Salary

  • Starting pay is up to $85,915, commensurate with experience + $5,000 bonus
  • Top pay after 6 years is $115,157
  • The Police Department offers a unique career development program that includes bonuses of up to $2,500 per year for voluntary participation by patrol officers
  • Longevity pay is standard for years of service within the department

Minimum Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen and at least 20 years old by date of hire
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Physically and mentally fit to perform all duties, as per MPOETC regulations
  • Have successfully completed Act 120 or currently enrolled in an Act 120 program, or equivalent training and possess current certification, or have eligibility for certification by the M.P.O.E.T.C.
