PennDOT – April 1st, 2025 Stoppage on Route 741 (Millersville Road) Bridge Rehabilitation Project

Stoppage of up to 15 minutes planned for Tuesday, April 1

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a brief stoppage is planned for next Tuesday at the Route 741 (Millersville Road) bridge rehabilitation project in Lancaster County. The bridge spans the Conestoga River between Rice Road in Lancaster Township and the entrance to Circle M Campground in Pequea Township.

Weather permitting, on Tuesday, April 1, the contractor will perform bridge jacking, which will require a full stoppage on the bridge for up to 15 minutes. This stoppage will occur sometime between the hours of 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM. This may cause delays.

This will be one of three bridge jacking operations planned for this bridge. Releases will be issued prior to subsequent jacking operations.

This project consists of a bridge rehabilitation, including concrete repairs to the substructure and superstructure, expansion dam replacements, a latex modified concrete resurfacing of the deck, bridge barrier coating, guiderail upgrades, and other miscellaneous work.

There will be temporary lane restrictions under flagging during daylight hours. A detour of up to 56 days will be implemented later this year for deck work. An updated press release will be issued prior to the detour.

All work is expected to be completed by September 19, 2025.
