Toter (Mobile Cart) Notes for Millersville Borough Residents:
Penn Waste has been awarded the Trash and Recycling Contract with Millersville Borough for the term of January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2029. During this time, Penn Waste will be collecting trash and recycling using TOTER SERVICE, with an automated truck. The use of the toters is required by all residents. Important information on toter service is provided in the attached flyer and below:
- Penn Waste will be delivering toters to residents on December 16, 2024.
- Personal trash cans and the old green recycling bins can no longer be used. You do not need to return the recycling bins to the Borough Office.
- If you would like to dispose of your empty old trash can(s) and/or your empty old recycling bin, put a note on it “PLEASE TAKE AS TRASH” and put it out on any collection day on or before Monday, January 27, 2025. After that time, you will need a RED OVERSIZED REFUSE TAG (sold individually for $4.00) to dispose of it.
- Residents may put their address on their toters.
- All trash must be bagged inside the trash toter. Each trash bag that does not fit in the trash toter must have a YELLOW EXTRA SERVICE TAG (sold in a sheet of 4 for $5.00).
- Recycling items should NOT be bagged inside the recycling toter (plastic bags are not a curbside recycling item).
- All other special collections will remain the same as previous years.
If you have any special requests about your Penn Waste toter or if it is damaged or missing, please contact Penn Waste Residential Customer Service at (717) 767-4456 opt 3.
